Consultation
Microsuction removes wax with a small suction tube and probe while the clinician looks into the ear. At Luton it is carried out by Ergisa Fekollari, our ear care practitioner, and costs £60 for one ear or £80 for both.
It is not suitable for everybody: regular ear infections or a perforated eardrum can rule it out. A consultation alone is £20.

Your ears are examined with an otoscope, a lit magnifier, to check that the wax is soft enough to remove.

No. Some ear conditions rule it out, among them regular ear infections and a perforated eardrum. Tell us about them when you book and the clinician will advise you.
The clinician checks with an otoscope before starting. Wax has to be soft enough for microsuction, and you are told at that point if it is not.
